Welcome to Nikki Burton Writes

Hi! I'm Nikki - it's great to have you here. I live in a small rural town in the Manawatū, Aotearoa New Zealand, with my two kids and a garden that is very much like everything in my life - a work in progress. I have a soft spot for a good classic gin and tonic, a slightly obsessive love of Italy and France (you'll find me retired there in a couple of decades), and a love affair with Christmas. Throw in a weakness for a proper rom-com - Nancy Meyers, ideally - and you've more or less got me! I'm currently writing my first book, and the opening book in the Christmas in Pōhutūkawa Bay series — six small-town Christmas romances set in a fictional Kiwi coastal village, where the tinsel goes up in the same week as the jandals. I write the books I want to disappear into: warm, funny, a little sun-drenched, and always headed somewhere good.
